Welcome to the Trekkers-R-Us blog site.

We will be bringing you updates on all of our training treks and fundraising efforts leading up to the big day on 27th July 2013, when we will be trekking across the South Downs from Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield to Brighton Race Course.

It's by no means an easy feat...

  • ...it's 100km (62.5 miles) along the South Downs Way
  • ...total ascent (climbing) is 2500m...that's practically up and down Ben Nevis
  • ...walking through the Channel Tunnel and back
  • ...we're aiming for 24 hours - that's walking an average of 4.17 km/h (the record by the Gurkhas is 9h 50m!)
  • ...and here's the proof of how tough it is!

We have 2 teams walking this year (KaiJamShazGaz & CHAP) under the one guise of Trekkers-R-Us and are aiming to raise over £3000 for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust - see our 'Sponsor Us' page to donate or by text TRUS88 to 70070 to donate £5. Find out more about the teams on our 'Meet the Trekkers' page.

You can also keep up to date with our exploits on twitter by following @Trekkers_R_Us, as well as all the other teams we are trekking with on @TrailwalkerUK.
